Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
I could not believe it yesterday - an International goalkeeper facing a blinding low sun and not understanding until the game had started that it might be difficult for him to see the ball coming his way. Any reasonable amateur goalkeeper would have his own kit ready for all playing conditions, and not rely on there being some random cap on the coach somewhere. And he was captain for the day - what did that teach the younger players about responsibility and professionalism? That they don't matter? The performance of the senior players was summed up by Hart's attitude.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Joking aside, I agree. Especially for an afternoon kick off at Joe Hart's own home ground.

Still, I'm more concerned at half a team barely turning up at all.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
It shows a lack of professionalism on the player/staffs part. Imagine if a pro golfer went for a warm up on the range before his round and there were a few spots of rain in the air. He then goes to the course and on the second hole it pisses down and he finds out neither he or his caddy has an umbrella.it wouldn’t happen.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Is there a secret society amongst us that was formed to protect the club from its own cock-ups?

Next time* we try to field an ineligible player, will it start a chant alerting the manager?

When we play Burnley away and arrive with our home kit, will they be prepared with 10 white AVCO kits?

*There WILL be a next time. It might be decades away, but it WILL happen

"It seemed symptomatic of West Ham’s slipshod approach that Hart arrived without appropriate headwear to shield his eyes from the low-hanging sun and found himself having to don a cap thrown to him by one of the travelling fans."
The Guardian

I think this riveting thread proves Joe Hart needs an icon. What's befitting Chigwell? Helmet? Dunce Cap?

(It's no coincidence Diafra SHAKO is out either, is it? Eh?)

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
I wouldn't want a cap back after he had worn it with all the shit he puts in his hair.

Completely agree. Hart also agrees, because he borrowed a cap.

The football is so shit, this is all that gets noticed....... :)

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
the thing i noticed was he borrowed the cap from the left side of his goal and when he returned the cap he went to the right side of the goal so whoever lent him the cap probably didnt get it back

"Mmmmm, the weather forecast for the match is bright sunshine. When I play during the winter generally that means that at some point the sun will be right in my eyes. Oh yes, here we are at the ground and the sun is so intense that everyone in the crowd is either wearing a cap or shielding their eyes. Oh whoops I haven't got a cap with me because my mum or the kit man hasn't got one packed. Well I'm not expected to bring my own cap am I, not on only £175,000 per week?"

The outcry on here would have sent the place into meltdown had we lost because Hart couldn't see properly.

This is almost as bad as the time that Sakho forgot his snood and had to run around in slightly chilly conditions with a neck that was a degree below his preferred body temperature.

Re: Joe Hart: no cap or no brain?
Fucking hell the refs, FA disciplinary panel etc, etc are far more unprofessional on a weekly basis.

The competition itself is run by a shambles and you are worried about a cap being in a goal keepers kit bag?

All a bit mincey really.

"For those who think Joe Hart not having a cap yesterday WASN'T a big deal in the grand scheme of things, I suggest you think again"

Yeah, I've had a good think about this again, and it really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Blokes who aren't teenagers who wear baseball caps is more of a bigger deal for me, if I'm honest. They look ridiculous.
